toothbrush.jpg (1960 bytes)Dental insurance has become a major component of the benefits package that financial institutions are offering to their employees in this competitive marketplace. FSIA offers dental plan designs that are insured by Aetna US Healthcare, CIGNA, Guardian Life Insurance Company and Delta Dental of Massachusetts. The wide variety of plan design options gives the financial institution the flexibility to choose a plan that meets its employees’ needs while remaining within its budgetary requirements.

The choice of different plan designs provides access and flexibility. These plan designs include traditional indemnity fee-for-service plans, passive and active network plans and dental maintenance organizations. The traditional indemnity fee-for-service plans allow the employees to use any dentist of their choice with benefits being paid on a usual and customary basis. The passive network design plans allow the employee the flexibility of using either in-network or out-of-network dentists. Out-of-network dentists are paid on a usual and customary basis and in-network dentists are paid on a contractual basis. Network dentists agree to accept lower fees, which enables the carriers to offer a savings of at least 10% over traditional indemnity plans.

The dental maintenance organization plan design offers high quality dental care with a Managed Care environment. As Managed Care networks, these plans offer significant savings and a smaller network of dentists who focus on preventative care and long-term dental needs. The primary cared dentists receive fixed monthly payments for each member, generating discounts of up to 45% over standard indemnity plans. Patients share in the cost of their benefits through fixed co-payments on covered procedures. There are often no network deductibles or annual maximums. Primary care dentists develop treatment plans for each member. This allows you to offer comprehensive coverage at a lower cost than indemnity fee-for-service or preferred provider network plans.
